, i don’t remember it being this full
and brights only make everything seem closer
on my drive back home
minnesota’s freezing, well we’re just not as slick as we thought
and this passengers’ seat
hasn’t gotten any warmer
everybody here is from somewhere
no one knows the road out of this place
and there is part of me okay with feeling trapped
if you didn’t want to leave here so bad
you’ve lost sight of your own hands
and i’ve never felt this cold
- just let me sip on my water
from the jar that we found in the road
where’d i put those blankets? could’ve sworn that i left them right there
we are crawling pine trees
braiding sticks as we go through our hair
i will sleep here forever on a mattress that’s made of my bones
and as my vision goes crooked
your face gets misplaced in the snow
everybody here is from somewhere
